Oct. 9th, 2005 02:06 pmi'm in awe. last year, when DARPA ran the autonomous vehicle race, one car went 7.5 miles, and most cratered out in the first mile. This year, something like a quarter of the participants FINISHED THE RACE. That's one year's difference!
24 is awesome, i'm about a third through with it, and it kicks ass.
being stuck in philly sucks, i haven't seen anybody in weeks! :((
the sky is as particularly a lovely shade of blue as possible given that I'm stuck in Philly and the future is blindingly uncertain.
i'm afraid i'm going to have to have ear surgery. :((
work is going fairly well for a project that I have no faith in, but at least i'm having fun.
work has a foosball table, i've been playing every day and practicing new shots in the evening. it's a fascinating game, the more I play the more depth I find in it. it amazes me how one table at a startup can lead to a lifelong hobby, and it also amazes me how much depth there is in a game that most people think is about spinning the handles randomly and drinking beer. Just as an example, the table is carefully designed so that from the goalie of one team, there is *always* a hole in the defending 4 rows of players that is almost exactly 2mm larger than the ball is.
