The project took a 180 degree turn into the "Twilight Zone" today. It's like something right out of Hitchcock's best zone - right through the door. The other senior programmer finally won the battle with management to instill discipline ON THEM, and we are backing up to a green bar source tree that is very close to production, and re-applying each branch in succession and release order, iteration by iteration, while keeping the tree green and almost everybody working on the same source base. It's like programmer heaven.
Last Monday, I went to Austin to have dinner with two ThoughtWorkers. They farkled for it, then one whipped out the corporate american express and paid a 160 wine and food tab at a *posh* (but not recommended - ask me for details) restaurant, and I still have a major league contact in there penciling my name in on projects in his area.
doo do doo do doo do doo do
so there he sits, in a place between heaven - and hell. between heaven and heaven. between... a lot of things. and he is waiting - with baited breath
for the other sh00 to drop.
